A HOME CHRISTMAS

Sunday, December 18th, 2005 - 2:30 P.M.
Morning Star Lutheran Church
(331 So. 85th Ave)

"At Christmas, all roads lead home."  Enjoy the majesty and magic of the season in both sacred and secular traditions to celebrate all that is Christmas.  Special arrangements, both new and traditional, by Jim Elsberry.

LENTEN MEDITATION

Sunday, February 26th, 2006 - 2:30 P.M.
All Saints Episcopal Church

(9302 Blondo St)

This program will allow the audience to carefully consider the impact of this most important season in the Christian calendar. Beginning with the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on what is traditionally referred to as Palm Sunday, Jim Elsberry and David Houghton have written a poignant acapella piece "Entry of the King." Then DuBois' "The Seven Last Words of Christ" takes us through the trial and crucifixion. Randall Thompson's well known "Alleluia" acts as an elegy-a recognition of the necessity of the cross, its suffering and death. Finally we celebrate Christ's resurrection with "Glory" by Rimsky-Korsakov.
