A program presenting many well-known spiritual hymns from various denominations of the Christian church and the St. Vincent de Paul choir will join the MasterSingers to explore the riches of hymnology.

CHRISTMAS

Morning Star Lutheran Church
331 South 85th Avenue, Omaha

A vast repertoire of choral music exists to celebrate this joyous season. The MasterSingers will salute Advent and Christmas with a selection of classical compositions including music by Bach, Handel, Rachmaninoff, and Willan. Special arrangements of seasonal hymns will be featured as well as carols and secular songs of the season, some that will include audience participation.

CHORAL MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008 - 3:00 P.M.
All Saints Episcopal Church

This program will trace the lineage of choral music from the Middle Ages to the present. Representative selections and historical commentary will paint vivid images of melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic development in the composition of choral music.

CELEBRATING AMERICAN POPULAR MUSIC

Saturday, May 10, 2008 - 7:30 P.M.
Kimmel Hall, Midland Lutheran College, Fremont
(8th and Irving Streets)

Small ensembles will perform songs made famous by groups such as the Chordettes, the Sons of the Pioneers, the Andrews Sisters, the McGuire Sisters, the Four Lads, the Four Aces, and others. We will celebrate the work of individual artists such as Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, and Frank Sinatra. This will be a truly magical retrospective for the listener from the songs of our lives.
